Over on Francesca Vanucci’s blog, La Soffitta del Tempo Perduto, you can see some amazing stuff, but one thing in particular that I’d like to point out is a project that she has underway. It involves a William Morris design, and silk, wool, and gold threads.

Francesca tells the story of how she came across a video that featured some images of William Morris designs in couture clothing, and the pieces captivated her. She captured one of the images from the video and turned it into a needlework pattern for herself. Now, she’s getting ready to embroider it using various threads and gold work.

Francesca’s blog is a great place to meander! It is written in Italian and English, and has some really gorgeous photos on it. She and her husband own an art / paint store in Rome, and her artistry certainly shows up on her website. Besides stitching, she enjoys painting porcelain and making fabric boxes, too, so if you wanter about her website, you’ll surely come across some of her beautiful works!

Her ambitious William Morris embroidery project that has me completely hooked – I’ll definitely be watching this develop! I can’t wait to see what she does next!
