Wow! There was a good response to this week’s give-away of the book, A-Z of Embroidery Stitches 2. It’s one of those give-aways where I wish I could send out a copy to everyone! It’s such a great little book! Alas, there is only one. (Well, actually, I do have two, but one is mine … and you’d probably have to pry it out of my fingers with a crowbar in order for me to give it up! I’m just that stingy when it comes to my books!)
I suppose, if you signed up for the give-away, you’re probably reading this just to find out if you won, so I won’t spend lots of time explaining how I do give-aways (which I’ve explained in detail on previous give-aways), or reflecting on the glories of this particular book (or any other book, for that matter), or elaborating on the Current State of the World, or even the Current State of My World (which, incidentally, is rather a disorganized mess right now). No, no. I suppose I should just get down to the Nitty Gritty.
And the Nitty Gritty is: Who Gets the Book??
Actually, the Nitty Gritty is this: if you didn’t win, you can buy a copy pretty inexpensively right now. The A-Z books are rather expensive. In the US, they generally run around $29 – $33. I’ve always thought the price worth it, as they are excellent instructional books. But Wooly Thread carries this one for a mere $15, so it’s definitely worth picking up while the price is low, if you have an interest in it. I’m not affiliated with Wooly Thread – I just love it when they run specials on the A-Z books. (The A-Z of Wool Embroidery, by the way, is also on special for $15. The A-Z of Stumpwork, which I reviewed not too long ago, has jumped back up to $25 – I suspect they ran out and had to order more at a different price.)
So that’s the Nitty Gritty, in case you didn’t win, and are interested in a copy of the book!
But who did win? The winner is….
CecilB! Congratulations, CecilB! In order to claim your your book, please contact me with your mailing address within 48 hours. If I don’t hear from the winner, I’ll draw another name.
Have a terrific weekend, everyone!
