Today, in celebration of the First Day of School, this is short post! I thought I’d point out a couple needlework deals worth taking a look at, if you’re in the market for supplies and want to save a little bit of money.

First up, is Cosmo floss. Lots of people have asked where to find it, and in all the places I found online, it was running anywhere from $1.00 – $1.06 / skein. A reader sent me a link, though, to Jojo’s Online Quilt Shoppe, where you can find Cosmo Embroidery Floss on sale right now for $0.88 / skein. So I thought I’d let you know about that, in case you want to rejuvenate your supply or try the thread out, for a little bit of a discount. Don’t forget that Hedgehog Handworks is running a special during August – free shipping to US customers, and half price shipping for international customers – in celebration of 23 years in business. Though I was swearing off supply shopping until October, I admittedly took advantage of the deal and ordered another slate frame and a new tambour hook and needles. My excuse? Well – I can use them for class demos, right?

Nordic Needle has their “New Catalog” sale going on right now. There are a lot of “little things” there for the stitcher that are on sale – accessories and so forth. You’ll also find some blackwork and sampler charts on sale for fairly good prices right now, so if you’re interested in this type of needlework, you might want to look those up – it’s a good time to find that perfect design for winter stitching.
