Sarah Homfray’s website has some good stuff on it for embroiderers, especially if you’re located in the UK. I mentioned her pounce kits earlier, but there are plenty of other little treasures there, too. (I especially like the look of her little chunks of beeswax with the bees & honeycomb!) She also has a blog, where she occasionally posts instructional information and other insights into her work.
Recently, Sarah posted this video on YouTube, featuring the steps involved in embroidering the Apache face featured in one of the projects in her silk shading stitch guide. The video is a series of photos showing the progress of the stitching and explaining the steps involved in embroidering the face.
It isn’t often that we see the embroidery of faces featured in instructional mediums, whether in books, tutorials, or videos – so definitely worth taking a look at Sarah’s video!
Tomorrow, a give-away! I’m just dying to get Home Sweet Home into your hands! See you then!
