Guess what? The Nesting Place online embroidery class is now taking enrollment!

The Nesting Place Online Embroidery Class

You can find a thorough description of The Nesting Place class here, or if you’re already familiar with what it is, you can jump straight to the Needle ‘n Thread (little) online shop and enroll.

The Nesting Place

The class focuses on learning all the techniques necessary to create this beautiful needlebook designed by Bobbi Chase. The class includes a complete materials kit made up of some of the finest needlework materials on the market – Strathaven linen forms the ground fabric for the cover, Fine d’Aubusson tapestry wool is used for the majority of the embroidery, Au Ver a Soie silk and Londonderry Linen threads are used for accent embroidery, and four types of Bohin needles see you through all the stitching.

The Nesting Place Needlebook

The needlebook is lined with a vintage Japanese cotton fabric, and embellished with little touches (beads, freshwater pearls, Mokuba ribbon rosettes, needlelace edging, satin ribbons) that make it a charming project, while at the same time quite functional! And don’t you just love embroidering something that you can really use? The Scottish felt inside the needlebook is perfect for safeguarding your favorite needles, and the little pocket is an ideal place to tuck extra needle packets – or even your embroidery scissors!

The class takes place in an interactive online environment where you can ask questions, get feedback, post pictures, watch exclusive class instructional videos, and interact with fellow participants. You’ll receive complete instructions before the class begins on how to access the classroom and make its features work easily for you.

And you’ll have access to the instructor (uh… that’s me) via the classroom or e-mail, to answer any questions or address any needs you have.

Why Online Classes?

The advantages of online classes are many, but probably the greatest advantage is that you can work at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home. By taking an online class, you avoid the travel expenses, lodging, and daily seminar fees that are generally associated with needlework workshops, making the online class more affordable for more people. Additionally, you have ongoing access to your instructor during an online class and can receive personal, one-on-one feedback when you need it. And finally, the class and materials kit are structured and paced in such a way that it is more likely that you will complete the project.

This is, incidentally, your last opportunity to make this needlebook, as it’s the final run of the class, since the vintage fabric that lines the needlebook is no longer made.

If you’re interested in joining me for this final run of The Nesting Place online class, feel free to read the thorough class description here or to go straight to the online shop and enroll. Class spaces are limited, and the class is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

I’m really excited about the class – and I hope to see you there!
