Good morning, and a Happy Monday all around!

Today, just a quick little freebie for you! This is a pattern I’ve been playing with off and on for a while, with the hopes of stitching it. I even got as far as picking out threads and colors, but I’ve never actually gotten to the embroidery. Who knows? Maybe one day!

It’s not on my current list of stuff to get done, though, which means it won’t happen too soon, so I thought I’d share the pattern, anyway. Maybe it’ll tickle your fancy, too!

This particular pattern is a Dillmont re-make (like this one and this one, though today’s is a little more intricate).

Taking one of the larger corner designs from an old Dillmont book, I highlighted just an excerpt of it – the part I liked best – changing the placement of some of the elements and re-imagining a couple others that I didn’t really like on the original.

I’ve got a very specific idea for the embroidery on this one, and eventually, I’ll share it with you. But really, this particular embroidery pattern is suitable for all kinds of surface embroidery techniques. If you were really adventurous, for example, there are plenty of elements on it that would serve for stumpwork. But you can also go simple with regular surface embroidery stitches. Maybe whitework’s your thing? That would work, too!

Fancy Floral Hand Embroidery Pattern

You can save it to your computer and print it when you want it. If you choose “no scaling” or “actual size” the design should print just short of 8″ high and about 5.5″ wide.
